Afterschool and Summer Camp Programs

Free Homework Club for children K-5 with extra programming including 4H club, bible study, Botvin Life Skills and more. The Summer Camp Program is an 8 week summer recreational fun club for children 6-12 years old.

Adult Nutrition and Exercise Programs

Free Program for adults and seniors, programs vary.

Back To School Events

Free event for the community, featuring backpack and school supplies. Recreational fun and food for the whole family.

Be Proud Be Responsible/Making Proud Choices

An evidence based program sponsored by Christiana Care for middle and high schooler to reduce their risk of HIV through behavioral changes.

Bookfairs

Yearly event through Scholastic BookFairs for all school-age community children.

Botvin Life Skills

This is a substance abuse and violence abuse prevention program that includes building self-confidence and strengthening the skills needed to successfully handle challenging situations.

Brown Bag Club

A monthly food distribution program sponsored by Lutheran Community Services.

Children’s Coat Distribution

A yearly program that takes place in the fall for the children in the community.

Family Discovery Night

A program that focuses on Literacy and Art, once a month, for the whole family to enjoy

Food Pantry

Emergency Food Services for those in need, intake form and appointment required.

Gloves Against Drugs

Is a Prevention and Empowerment Program designed to inspire youth 12-25 to manage peer pressure, understand the risk of substance abuse and find healthy alternatives

Healthy Resources

Knollwood Community Center partners with other organizations including Christiana Care and Westside Health and can provide referrals for health related needs

Holiday Activities

Includes Trunk or Treat and Christmas Adopt-A-Family and Community Parties

Police and Princess Ball

Delaware police partner with local communities to hold a gala inviting young girls that feature food, dancing and entertainment. The goal is to strengthen community relations in local neighborhoods.

Spiritual Studies

Bible Study for Youth and Adults.

Atonement Church in conjunction with HOPE Community Church have been bringing Bible studies to the students in Knollwood since 2013. It started out small with a group of teen boys that wanted to study the Bible on Thursday nights. At the same time, our church was getting involved in the knollwood homework club with the elementary students, and we were offered a chance to teach Bible study to the children as well.

The program aims to create an environment in which boys feel comfortable talking about masculinity, gender roles and sexual health
